Arbor Day Foundation Rings Nasdaq Opening Bell as Prelude to Arbor Day

Dan Lambe, Arbor Day Foundation president, rang today's Nasdaq opening bell as a prelude to Arbor Day (April 24) and calling attention to the importance of trees. Lambe was joined at Nasdaq by Matt Harris, Arbor Day Foundation chief executive.

Lincoln, Neb. (April 22, 2015) – Dan Lambe, Arbor Day Foundation president, rang today's Nasdaq opening bell as a prelude to Arbor Day (April 24) and calling attention to the importance of trees. Lambe was joined at Nasdaq by Matt Harris, Arbor Day Foundation chief executive.

"It is a great week to be celebrating the earth and its resources, and to be celebrating trees and how trees help to bring solutions to some of the most complex issues facing our nation and the globe," stated Lambe. "Today, we want to recognize and call attention to the many corporations who utilize trees to help advance and achieve their unique sustainability goals."

"From offsetting carbon, helping to protect important watersheds, from creating better communities, to replanting forests across the nation and across the globe, the Arbor Day Foundation works with hundreds of corporate partners to advance sustainability...through trees," continued Lambe.

Trees are valuable assets. They clean the air and keep water resources pure. In a community, they help to improve the visual appeal of a neighborhood or shopping district, increase property values, and reduce energy consumption, among many other benefits.
